how do i restore my laptop to factory mode in windows 8.1. ive tried following windows 7 steps but its different. any help would be appreciated thanks

If not, you can always clean install W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your notebook's BIOS.

 

I can give you the steps for doing that, but I would need to know if your notebook originally came with W8 standard or W8 Professional.
