OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wd000 (7B9S0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Anyone know how to go back to an older bios for HP Omen 16.1 gaming labtop?

I sent in my Laptop for repair at hp and they repaired it, but when it came back they  also updated the bios which caused a permanent black screen when I use discrete graphics.(Literally the most important part of using a gaming laptop) I think I would be rich for the number of times that a company like hp or dell releases a broken bios that never gets fixed.

any help would be appreciated.

I already tried to recovery the bios with windows key + B + power button. That does nothing in my case.

any help would be appreciated. thank you.

Hi,

Here you can find the latest BIOS for the machine

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/swdetails/omen-by-hp-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-16-wd0000/model...

If you scroll down, under revision history you can find all the older BIOS versions and are able to download them.

You could also try installing the graphics drivers from HP

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/omen-by-hp-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-16-wd0000/model/210160596...

Hope it helps,

David

Thank you for the reply. I am trying to roll back. I already have the latest and it is causing the issue. The older versions do not let me roll back. THE UPDATE SECTION IS GRAYED OUT. Cannot be clicked.

All older versions also say, "this bios is not compatible with this device".
