I have a folio 9470m that has an ssd and hdd
the SSD has a capacity of 32GB and the HDD is 500GB
I have my operating system installed onto the SSD and the local disk keeps getting filled up
I can't seem to manage to get sensible storage even after changing the location of the temp folder and the necessary libraries locations to the HDD directory
please help because I really can't handle a fresh installation of the operating system because I have a lot of work that needs to be submitted and is stored locally on my computer

If you have critical files on the PC that you can not afford to lose, then the first thing you need to do is buy a USB stick and back off those files. Why? because if you then resort to doing a factory reset, not only will you LOSE all those files, you will probably trash your PC in the process and have no way to recover them.
Here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

Finally, there is a freeware app known as Wise Disk Cleaner. I use it every day to get rid of junk files: https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html

Sorry, no -- the 32GB drive is very small and most of it is already used up by Windows.
You can not do a factory reset using the internal feature because there is not enough space and that will only end up trashing the laptop and rendering it useless.
If you do a factory reset using external media, that will only clean up the drive in the short term. As soon as you get back online, Windows Update will crank up and start downloading updates -- as there is no way to prevent this. Then in short order, your drive will be as full as it is now.
