HP ProBook 4740s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi - after installing a new HDD and doing a clean Windows 10 64 bit install using the Media Creation Tool, my SD card reader is no longer functioning. Windows troubleshooting has failed to remedy the problem. I suspect that drivers are missing - I have installed the latest drivers for the laptop as provided on the HP 4740s support site.

Anyone able to tell me how to correct the issue?

Many thanks

Hi:

See if this driver gets the SD card reader to work...

The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

this fix does not make the SD reader visible on my new Pavilion laptop.  Not sure why HP is not fixing this issue.

@Markstack

I can tell you one reason the fix on this link absolutely won't work on your notebook, is because it uses a card reader from a different manufacturer (Realtek).

I suggest you start a new post detailing the full model number of your PC and whatnot.
