Notebook Stream 11-r001na
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

We bought my daughter a Stream Notebook for Christmas which has seemed extremely slow over the first couple of months.

When I looked it over this evening I was surprised to find the hard drive almost entirely full (it's a 30GB drive and there's only about 2.2 GB free.

I've used WinDirStat to map the hard disk usage and found a large space is taken up by $windows.~bt which appears to be some sort of install file for Windows. Some online articles seems to suggest it is temporary and should be automatically removed by Windows. There is also a lot of space taken by stream.x86.x-none.dat which I believe is a file for Office 365.

Are these files safe to delete? Other sites suggest so, but I wanted to check with HP that they're not serving some purpose I have yet to fathom!

Many thanks

Hi,

You don't need both.

Do disk cleanup: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3012-disk-cleanup-open-use-windows-10-a.html
