Hi all;
I had something weird happen this morning. Samsung installed updates on my HP laptop. Can anyone explain this and do I need to keep those updates or can they be deleted?
The updates installed are:
SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. AndroidUsbDeviceClass Driver Update (2.21.4.0)
SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. Modem Driver Update (2.21.4.0)
SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. USB Driver Update (2.21.4.0)

Hi Paul_Tikkanen;
Yes, I do have a Samsung smartphone. And yes, I had to connect it to my laptop a few days ago to copy a few files to my phone.
Thanks for the reply. The mystery is solved.

You're very welcome.
Even though the phone may not have been connected at the time, the device is still listed as a hidden device in the device manager.
The phone installs faster that way when it is plugged in when it is already there as a hidden device because Windows doesn't have to set the phone up from scratch.
You can go to the device manager and click on the View tab at the top of the window and select Show hidden devices.
Your phone will show in light shade.
Now if you had deleted the hidden Samsung phone device from the device manager after you unplugged it, you probably would not have gotten those driver updates.
You may get future driver updates if Samsung releases updated drivers to Microsoft to include in the Windows update app.
Cheers,
Paul
