I was turning my computer on, and it turned on but not booting windows. I can't even see windows loading screen, then suddenly it turned off automatically and it restarted itself. I freaked out and ran into BIOS and started Hard drive test and I ended up seeing Short DST fail Message.
I have live bootable Parrot OS pendrive. I checked whether my all my files and data are there or not with the os. Fortunately, they are in their place and accessible. But I'm panicking Everytime about loosing them.
So,
My question is that Can I get my data back?
And How!

Hi

My suggestion is to stop accessing the HDD, and remove it and mount it in a caddy.

Parrot is apparently Debian based, so that is good.

Fit a new HDD, obtain a new OS onto a new USB stick.

Then copy/clone whatever your data.

If in doubt please ask.

@DieYoung

I've not used a Parrot pendrive so I can not attest to its reliability and usefulness in recovering Windows filesystems.

If it works, then you are in good shape.

IF not, then you need to do the following:
1) Download and install this utility on a working PC http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_...
2) Run the data recovery utility to see what can be retrieved from the old drive.

If that tool does not find what you need, an alternative is Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva

And, if that does not work well, the best tool out there is this one, but only the trial version is free http://www.file-recovery.com/
