Can anyone help me? For a month now, my computer when turned off consumes battery power. I replaced the battery, which I should have changed anyway because it was not holding a charge by now, but the problem persists. Looking at the windows graph I noticed that the screen is always on even when the pc is off. How can I solve it?

Laptops have more power options than desktops.
There are battery reports and usage graphs.
You can defined what happens when you close the lid.
The power button can be used to cause the system to sleep
or the sleep button can cause hibernation.
Here is a typical plan but the plan shows the system does not turn off. Change the plan so the computer actually turns off. If you want to let it sleep then be sure to keep the charger plugged in or the battery will go dead.

if you leave it plugged in overnight, does the battery drop or stay the same?
If you click "shutdown" be sure to wait a while before closing the lid else it might switch to sleep first. Just to be sure it is not sleeping try moving the mouse or touching a key to see if it wakes up.
