Hi @Kams2024,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Spectre x360 convertible is not detecting your second monitor, there are several potential issues that could be causing this problem. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Physical Connections

  • Cable Check: Ensure that the cable connecting your laptop to the monitor is securely connected at both ends. Try a different cable if available to rule out a faulty cable.
  • Port Check: Ensure that the ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C) on both the laptop and the monitor are not damaged. Try using a different port if your laptop and monitor have multiple ports.
  • Power Check: Ensure the monitor is powered on and that its power cable is properly connected.

2. Monitor Input Source

  • Input Source: Make sure the monitor is set to the correct input source. Most monitors have an input button that allows you to switch between different input sources (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.).

3. Display Settings on Windows

Open Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.

Detect Displays:

  • Scroll down and click on Detect under the "Multiple displays" section.

Check Display Mode:

  • Ensure the display mode is set correctly (Duplicate, Extend, or Second screen only). You can change the display mode by pressing Win + P and selecting the appropriate option.

4. Update or Roll Back Graphics Drivers

Update Graphics Driver:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.Expand the Display adapters section.
  • Right-click on your graphics card and select Update driver.Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Roll Back Driver:

  • If updating doesn’t work, you might need to roll back the driver:In Device Manager, right-click on your graphics card and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

5. BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (usually F2, F10, Esc, or Del) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup.
  • Look for any settings related to display output or external monitors and ensure they are correctly configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
