Good afternoon,
recently i installed windows 10 on my laptop (32 bits) and now the touchpad doesn't work. Looking at forums, I found that I have to install the Intel Serial IO I2C Controller, but when trying to install, a message appears on my screen: "This platform is not supported"
Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

Yes, there has been some debate about whether a 2 GB computer can sufficiently support Windows 64-bit. I did some testing and 64-bit does use slightly more memory but not that much. It is what HP is shipping from the factory, I do not think you will have any problem running it.

Are you downloading the executable file from the hp.com site and running that? I have done that on my Stream 11 for a Windows 10 fresh installation and did not have a problem although I have not done it in a while.

You might try repeating the installation of Windows 10 by using the 64-bit version. That is what I used and that is what HP uses so possibly the driver only supports 64-bit, I am not sure. You could also attempt to install the Window 8.1 version of the driver to see if you get the same error.

Hi, @chechugb96 :
There are no 32 bit drivers for that device from anywhere.
That is why you are getting that error.
If you explore the driver file, you will only see support for 64 bit.
For 32 bit operating systems you need to see an x86 description in the setup information files.

You're very welcome.
I agree with you...64 bits with only 2GB of memory in a PC with a weak processor such as the model you have, is not good.
However, there is nothing you will be able to do to install that device.
If the notebook runs fine with that driver missing, then your only alternative is to live with it as it is, since you cannot add additonal memory to run a 64 bit OS efficiently.
I scoured the internet for a 32 bit driver for that device, and came up empty handed.
I checked Intel's site too. Nothing. Just 64 bit drivers.
Google the driver name and you will also find the same information...no 32 bit driver.
But please feel free to really dig into the matter. I only spent about a half hour looking for you.
