Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I am using Windows 11, during one of the updates, servicing pack was intalled and it is making my machine very slow. It takes almost an hour to start. When I uninstall windows and reinstall its gets better but once i connected to WIFI and windows updates occur, the same problem reoccurs. Unfortunately I can't uninstall the servicing pack, how do i resolve this issue once and for all? Kindly assist.

Hello @Nina62

I strongly advise you to go back to Windows 10 as your notebook model

HP EliteBook 820 G3

is not fully tested and certified by HP for Windows 11 operating system.

(1) Backup <all> personal data (documents/pictures/videos etc...) to external USB hard drive

(2) Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10

I really liked the user interface for windows 11, when can I expect it to be tested and confirmed?

Will downgrading solve the problem completely?

Yes

Please run diagnostics first before doing anything else ...

(1) Test your hardware Using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

--->>> Perform <all> tests

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2854458-2733239-16

See section <Running HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tests when Windows doesn't start>

See how it works:

(2) Please report your results ( error messages, take pictures )

No. This is a standard maintenance program from HP to check the computer.

Kind regards

Hello,

I degraded to windows 10 as advised. I can happily say the start up time has considerably reduced to around 10 min which I still believe can improve. However, after starting,  it is very slow in opening other apps as compared to before. Kindly advise on what could be the problem.
