HP ZBook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I just download Hp support assistant yesterday, and now it show up an update for my BIOS as the picture.
My laptop is HP Zbook 15 (not sure if it is G1 or G2, can someone tell me pls?) .
I used to have a HP Elitebook 8560p, I download the BIOS update for it from HP driver page, I dont know if I do anything wrong at that time, but it go bricked. I dont want to repeat the same mistake this time. Is there any risk when install new BIOS update from this software? and should I update my BIOS?

Thank you!

Do not update BIOS using HP support assistant software.

This is the latest BIOS listed in your support page: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-zbook-15-mobile-workstation/5387800/mo...

can you pls explain why I shouldnt update from support assistant?

We volunteers see many users report here BIOS update bricking the machine, done via HPSA. HP has started withdrawing BIOS notification through HPSA recently and is yet to fully accomplish that.

HPSA as such is finicky while downloading, running and installing updates for me at least.

my current BIOS version is 01.21, your version is 01.44, do I need to upgrade?
Does the newer version improve performance, reduce heat or anything?

See the "Fixes" section in the latest BIOS page I've provided you:

It says: "Provides the option to allow Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security to be cleared without displaying the Physical Presence Interface (PPI) confirmation message."

It's the first generation...G1 or simply called HP ZBook 15 Mobile Workstation .

Subsequent upgrades are termed as G2, G3 etc.

Key in your model number in here : http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx
