Sim card no resond

How do i get my my sim card to the computer to work. Do i need some software to get it work?

Hi:

All HP EliteBook 745 G6's have SIM card slots.

What 90% of them don't have is the optional and expensive WWAN network card option which is what allows your notebook to connect to a cellular network.

The SIM card just authorizes you to use the network.

Go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category.

In order to connect to a cellular network, your notebook must have this WWAN adapter present and working in the device manager:

Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced (CAT 9)

Thanks now i understand, i always think that i only have to put in a sim card. Can you write the name of the adapter or have you some suggestion where i can found one, greetings Patrik

You have to first make sure that the two WWAN antenna wires are present where the WWAN card is installed before buying one.

Chapter 3 page 22 has the only WWAN card available:

Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced (CAT 9)    HP part # L15398-001

You can only buy that model card, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

The card is very expensive as I had replied the other day...2871.01 SEK ($264.13 USD).

Maybe you can find the card elsewhere in used but tested and working condition such as on eBay.

I also recommend that you contact HP support in Sweden to make sure that you can install a WWAN card afterward because on some notebooks the WWAN card can only be installed at the factory.

Unfortunately, there are no posts on this forum where anyone has tried to install a WWAN card in that model, so I have no confirmation that it will work.
