It is impossible to log into  Comcast (xfinity) with  HP SimplePass. During long time I had investigated what could be a problem:

As usually, there are two text boxses for UI and password on the Log page -  but they are not empty.  After typing in UI, the text        "     X     username" remains in the box. The same story with Password box: there remains the text "...X    Password".

Do you think that this could  be a cause of the problem with HP SimplePass?  Do you know how to fix this issue?

Thank you

Hello, @lyud

Thanks for the update 🙂

Like you suggested, it might be one possibility that the new Comcast is not compatible with the simple pass for the time being.

As the last step, I would also suggest checking the SimplePass with a new user account in the Windows 10. If the issue is caused by any other factors, this will help us isolate it.

Follow the steps listed here to create a local user account: http://hp.care/2dWJKgW

Once done, login to the new account, activate the SimplePass and check the Comcast page again.

If the page is still not accessible, then the issue could be with the new Comcast page not compatible with the SimplePass.

Thanks, That's all I have got at the moment!

Good luck 🙂

Hello, @lyud – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for joining the HP Support forums! I would glad to be of your assistance 🙂

Going through your post, I understand that you are facing issues with the HP Simple pass while logging in to Comcast (Router EWS/GUI?)

To assist you better with this issue, I need to know whether the Simple pass is working for your other logins. Did you try registering any other website account credentials using the Simple pass? If unsure, try using it in your email account or Facebook account and let me know the result.

Also, check http://hp.care/2fE2CEF to understand more about the HP Simple pass and to register account credentials to the program.

I would also like to take your interest to one of the forum thread discussing a similar issue: http://hp.care/2dBYYKE

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂

Simple Pass works with any other applications, except Comcast. It worked before until they had re-designed there site.  As I described before, when i typed in my user ID and password in the  appropriate boxes, the boxes contain not only my credentials,  but sign  "x"( to cancel) and descriptions "User Name",  "Rassword" in the same log boxes.

Please help.

Thank you

Hello, @lyud

Thanks for the reply & appreciate the screenshot 😉

While there are few websites which are not compatible with the SimplePass, having the "username" and "password" descriptions may not be a reason for this issue. There are several websites who employs a similar way of authentication which works well with the SimplePass.

I would now like you to check the Simplepass account to make sure the Comcast account is correctly added. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the HP SimplePass icon in the desktop taskbar, then log on using your PIN, password, or fingerprint.

  2. Click the key  icon to open the My Vault screen, and then select a website icon to view the username and password for the website.

  3. Make any changes to the username and password, and then click Save.

  4. Now try logging into the Comcast and check again. If the issue persists then try using a different browser and check again.

NB: Also, does your Comcast password contain "+" symbol? The password containing "+" cannot be added to the simple pass.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day 🙂

Dear DVortex,

Thank you for your replay.  I have repeated this steps many times - nothing works. But what I have figured out:  when I register some other sites, there appears the notification from SimplePass on the top of screen: "swipe your finger...".

This is not happenning with the Comcast site (there is no notification).

In this case, I swipe my finger (without the notification), it displays the screen with icons. I am clicking on Comcast and see again  the log screen and so on.

Does it mean, that SimplePass is not compatible with Comcast's latest version?

It's very strange because SimplePass worked with the Comcast's previous version of a log screen.

Thank you.
