Hi,

Windows update did a forced upgrade on to my bios from 1.03.xx to latest 1.30.00. After the update I noticed a significant, 10-15% loss in CPU and GPU performance. I used different programs, such as Pcmark and Geekbench to see the difference. Furthermore, I was able to downgrade the BIOS to 1.05.xx, but that didn't solve the performance issue.

I have done these benchmarks also with a newly installed Windows 10, Windows 11 and Linux to rule out any OS problems. The bios update affected the performance.

I would like to ask, why the HP forces these updates? And furthermore, why I'm unable to roll back to 1.03.xx BIOS?

Any ideas how I can roll back to 1.03.xx BIOS? Downgrading to 1.05. and trying to get 1.03 or even the 1.04 BIOS wasn't possible using USB or Windows method.
