@AKM17, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Identifying Large Files

Disk Cleanup: Use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool in Windows to identify and delete unnecessary files such as temporary files, system cache, and old Windows updates.

Storage Settings: You can check the storage settings on your Windows 10 or 11 laptop by going to Settings > System > Storage. This area will give you a breakdown of what categories are taking up space and help you find large files.

File Explorer: Open File Explorer and use the search function to look for files by size. You can search for files larger than 100 MB by entering size:gigantic in the search bar.

Third-party Software: Tools such as WinDirStat or TreeSize Free can visualize disk usage and help you identify large files and folders.

Considerations Before Deleting Files

Before deleting any files, be sure to:

  • Backup Important Files: Ensure that files essential for your work or personal needs are backed up.
  • Check File Type: Make sure you're not deleting system files or program files that are necessary for the operation of your laptop.
  • Research Unknown Files: If you're unsure of a file's purpose, do a quick search online to check its relevance

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
