HP Notebook - 15-ba009dx

Hi!

I've had this computer for about three years, but on my second year of use, the screen went black and I wasn't able to use my computer anymore. This happened with an older computer and the other computer wasn't savable, so I thought the same thing happened to this computer.

I put it away and hadn't touched it until today (3.20.20). I plugged it in expecting nothing to happen, but it booted up just fine! The only issue was, I couldn't really do anything without the computer freezing and found out I had next to no storage space, so I decided to wipe the computer and start fresh.

Instead of resetting my PC from the "troubleshoot" page, I instead used Recovery Manager and then chose System Recovery.

I didn't need anything I had on the computer so I recovered without backing up and just let the computer do its thing.

It's been about two hours since, and I was feeling fine about the way things were going since the File Based Installer would pop up, the "Software is being installed" screen came up, and it restarted a couple times. However, it's been on a loop for about an hour now and has been flipping between different screens but ultimately always comes back to the File Based Installer "Software is being installed" screen. There are two gray bars stacked on top one another showing the progress.

As of right now, there's little to no progress on the bottom bar and the top bar is moving a little quicker. When the top bar is complete, it just restarts from the beginning until it's full again.

Is there anything I did wrong? What should I do now? Anything to expect?

I'll update tonight. Thank you!

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat; Re-Connect the AC adapter.

NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

Make a USB and start with that, you can try a repair or a re-install as per piccies.
