HP Recommended
Product: Example: PavilCompaq Presario CQ60-420US Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista

Microsoft no longer support Vista. What is HP and the community recommended software upgrade path? is there anopther recommend OS?  Will it run 7 or 10?

Your machine is a bit old now. HP does not supply drivers for it AFTER Windows 7

Therefore the best path to go is to upgrade it to Windows 7.

 

Please also note: Microsoft may stop to support Windows 7 very soon and force us (yes you and me) to go to Windows 10 that means buying new machines. Please consider to save money and buy new machine in aound 2 years time.
