Greetings, I am a totally old newbie so I hope I am in the right place?
For my 2ce x 40th birthday I was given this re-furbished laptop. Out of curiosity I clicked on the ' click on Esc to see start up menu' - or similar expression - at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Immediately the computer tried to log into a couple (2) of Ubuntu o/s. Whatever I did I could not, at that time, get out of the situation and eventually switched off. When I tried to log into the 2 choices of Ubuntu there was a message that some files were missing. I tried subsequently to log on and each time it loaded into the Ubuntu screen and each time I had to switch off. I think that I even tried to log into the BIOS to establish if there was anything there to help. That was a nightmare because BIOS was nothing like that in my Windows 7. Eventually, the problem seemed to clear itself and all was well until a couple of days ago when, mysteriously, it booted into the Ubuntu screen again. .After several re-starts I gave up. Then, it cleared itself and I am back in Windows 10. Any assistance shall surely be appreciated particularly in simple language to rid the laptop of this Ubuntu thing and to be able to see start up items without becoming trapped in any other nasty environment.
