I have a problem with the stylus. The stylus is a 761392-001 and worked in the past but no longer works. I have replaced the battery and it still does not work. I do not recall if there was a pairing process and it has always worked. Could be i have a bad batch of batteries too... If the stylus connects automatically then I assume the batteries are all bad. I have 3 batteries. Perhaps a passive stylus is a better solution for me.

A specific model/product number would be appreciated. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)
Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.
There may be new firmware you need to install.

No problem.
Are you sure that is the pen's part number and also was it included with the computer? I cannot find any specification and accessory documents that confirm the two devices' compatibility, unfortunately.
Since you did insist that it functioned previously, please try this touchscreen firmware update although I am a bit skeptical that a 2-year-old firmware update will fix this.
