HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-b185
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

Anybody can tell me about the readings that I got after I downloaded SpeedFan to check how my HP Pavilion TouchSmart

14-b185tu Sleekbook laptop fans are doing.

The readings are as follows:          Fan 1: 1128RPM.

                                                                  Fan 2: 425 RPM.

                                                                  HD0: 36C.

                                                                 Temp1: 55C.

                                                                 Core 0: 54C.

                                                                 Core1: 50C.

The readings of Temp 1, Core0 & Core1 all had the red flame icons while the HD0 had a blue arrow. Any input would be

appreciated.

Thank you.

Those readings are perfect. The red flame depends on where you have the standards set. By default the settings are very low, giving a red flame for temps that are fine. Below 70C is just fine.

Hello Sir,

Thanks, I really appreciate your assistance.

I have not had my laptop fan cleaned since I got it mid year of 2014. Although I have a cooling fan stand under my laptop, I know it is not an excuse.

I just can not seem to find time to get it to a qualified technician to clean the fan but am really bothered now that I have to, in the next few months.

I uninstalled the SpeedFan last night after downloading it an hour earlier. I did not want it to interfer with my Crystal Disk and the HP Coolsense app. I also read online that the SpeedFan might do some harm to my board.

My crystal Disk readings usualy ranges from 35C-40C. I read online that anything above 35C is risky to my board and internal components heating up?

I use my laptop for browsing, downloading youtube videos, and writing only. I have a WD external HDD 1TB that I connect to watch movies which has about 400gb of movies in it. It usually hits 40C when I watch a movie but goes down to 36C-38C when I use an electric fan or a small table blower fan that is directed to it from a distance.

1. Is it safe temp for an external HDD to reach 40C?

2. Will the SpeedFan somehow interfere with the functions of the Crystal Disk and HP Coolsense? All three working at once?

3. Does the Crystal Disk temp range of 35C-40C still in the normal temp range during browsing although when watching movies, it stays mostly at 35C. Although again, the temp goes up in the 37C-38C range when I do not use the electric stand fan behind me which hits the laptop in front of me.

4. Is it safe to download movies on my laptop from YTS, https://yts.ag/.

Thank you very much for your kind assistance. I really appreciate it! Takes a lot of worries off my mind since my Acer laptop in 2011 lost its board after several downloads of torrent movies.
