Sticky Keys

HP Recommended

A few days ago I spilled soda on my laptop's keyboard and all the keys work fine, they're just sticky now. Is there an easy way to fix this? I tried searching it on google but the solution was complicated and involved taking the keys off and I would prefer not having to disassemble anything.

Easy yes -- safe NO.  The easy way is to poor very hot water onto the keyboard to soften the stuff and eventually wash it out -- but the dangerous side-effect is that SOME water is then going to seep into the PC and short out the motherboard -- turning it into an electric brick!

So no, the only way to do it safely is using q-tips with cleaning solution to carefully clean around the keys.
