Hi @Snowie2011,

Thank you for the response.

Try these steps:

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key (for older laptops) or access the advanced startup options via Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Restart now.
  • Once you're in Safe Mode, your laptop will load only essential drivers, which can prevent the DMA violation error and allow you to troubleshoot further.

Update Device Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Look for any drivers with a caution sign, right-click them, and choose Update Driver. You can also use the HP Support Assistant to check for updates and install them, as it sometimes contains updates not yet available in Windows Update.

Run Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for and install any pending updates. Windows updates often include driver patches that can resolve DMA violations.

Uninstall Problematic Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, identify any newly installed drivers that might be causing issues. Uninstall these drivers and restart your laptop.

Disable Driver Verifier:

  • You can disable Driver Verifier if you believe it might be causing the issue. In the Windows search box, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and choose Run as administrator.
  • Type verifier /reset and press Enter to disable the Driver Verifier.

Check Hardware Components:

  • As a last resort, ensure all hardware components are properly connected, and test your laptop's memory and hard drive for faults using tools like Windows Memory Diagnostic or HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

I hope this helps.
