Not sure the product name is correct because HP Support Assistant will not load. Have tried many things to fix to no avail. Win 11 will not install. Have 32GB memory and 1TB drive. Currently running Win10 Home OS Build 19045.5965. Cannot tell if I have any missing updates or drivers etc because of Support Assistant. Assuming these two issues are related. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Of note is I use AVG Internet Security suite with VPN turned off. Thank you.

@MelissaGriggs, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Given the issues with HP Support Assistant not loading and the inability to install Windows 11, here are some steps that you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these problems:

Uninstall and Reinstall HP Support Assistant:

  • You may need to uninstall HP Support Assistant if it's not loading correctly. Once uninstalled, you can download and install the latest version from the HP Support Assistant page.

Check for System Updates using Windows Update:

  • Open Windows Update by searching for it in the Start menu.
  • Click on "Check for updates" to ensure that your system has the latest updates installed.

Verify System Compatibility for Windows 11:

  • Windows 11 has specific system requirements. You can check if your PC meets these requirements using the Windows PC Health Check Tool available from Microsoft.

Run HP Diagnostics:

  • If you are able, run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to check for hardware issues. This can be accessed by restarting your computer and pressing Esc repeatedly, then selecting F2 to open the diagnostics tool.

Ensure Drivers are Updated:

Check Security Software:

  • Sometimes security software like AVG can interfere with system functions or installations. Temporarily disable AVG and see if this affects the HP Support Assistant or Windows 11 installation. Note: Be sure to scan your computer for threats after re-enabling your security software.

Perform a Clean Boot:

  • To see if other background processes are interfering, perform a clean boot. This starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. Instructions for a clean boot can be found on the Microsoft Support site.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
