Hi @bagdadtrading,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Synaptics Precision Touchpad Filter Driver!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check OS Version & Build
Make sure your OS is compatible:
Press Windows + R, type winver, and press Enter.
Note the Windows version and build (e.g., Windows 11 23H2 or Windows 10 22H2).
Important: Some older Synaptics drivers aren’t compatible with the latest builds. We'll need the right one.
Uninstall Any Existing Touchpad Drivers
Press Windows + X → choose Device Manager.
Expand Human Interface Devices and Mice and other pointing devices.
Right-click on anything listed as Synaptics, HID-compliant touchpad, or I2C HID Device.
Choose Uninstall device. Check Delete the driver software if available.
Restart the laptop.
Download the Correct Synaptics Driver from HP
Go to the official HP driver page for your model:
HP Pavilion x360 14-ek0074TU Drivers
Under Driver - Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices, look for Synaptics Precision Touchpad Filter Driver.
Download and install it.
If not found, download the latest Windows 11 Touchpad Driver under “Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices”.
Manually Install the Driver (If Auto Fails)
Go to Device Manager.
Right-click the HID-compliant touchpad or similar device.
Click Update driver → Browse my computer → Let me pick from a list.
Click Have Disk → Navigate to the Synaptics driver folder you downloaded.
Select the .inf file and install manually.
Enable Precision Touchpad Support
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
If it shows “Your PC has a precision touchpad”, it worked.
Customize gestures and sensitivity here.
I hope this helps.
