Hey guys, I wanted to fix this problem for a while now and I have tried everything.
My Synaptics settings tab is just missing from my mouse properties. All I want to do is to disable the palmcheck thing!
I have tried everything to get it back, from restarting my computer to even uninstalling my touchpad and device driver and reinstalling it back, but still, the tab is missing. Has anyone ever had this problem, and if you did, were you able to fix it? Someone please help me to get the settings tab back!

@Ravenov
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- What is the exact product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Refer to this document describes how to disable the Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad feature: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03882926
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

@Echo_Lake
Hi, here are my computer details= HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bq2xx, I bought it in Costco and the problem was there ever since. There were no windows updates, I updated the bios from the HP Support Assistant. Unfortunately, none of this helped. Thanks for trying tho! Is there anything else I can do to get the tab back?
