the sysInfoCap.exe issue even persisits after deleting the hp support assistant as suggested by hp team
after few months (1-2) the sysinfocap.exe issue disappeared it did not suddenly start executing and take up all the memory
now the issue has begun again it occupies lot of memory and cpu and the whole system gets stuck for a minute or lags before and after it i have to manually go to task manager and then disable its execution .

Hi @palmtopi,
The SysInfoCap.exe issue you are experiencing might be related to the system's performance and memory usage due to HP Support Assistant or other background processes that interact with system information tasks. Here are some steps you can take to alleviate the problem:
System Updates: Ensure that your operating system and all related drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated drivers or system files can cause conflicts.
HP Support Assistant Reinstallation:
- Uninstall HP Support Assistant: If you have already uninstalled it and still face issues, it might be beneficial to reinstall it to ensure all related files are removed properly.
- Download Latest Version: Visit HP Support Assistant Download to get the latest version.
Task Manager Check:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check the SysInfoCap.exe process.
- Right-click the process and select End Task to stop it temporarily.
Performance Troubleshooting:
- Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if there are any other background processes causing conflicts.
- System Scan: Use tools like Windows Defender or a third-party antivirus program to scan for malware or issues.
Additional Tools:
- Disk Cleanup: Use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files that can sometimes cause issues.
- System Restore: If the problem started recently, you might consider using System Restore to roll back to a point before the issue began.
I hope this helps.

well i did the hp support assistant part but i need to wait to see because the sysinfocap program just randomly starts to execute and it may be fine for sometime but looks like there are memory leaks in some part of program when triggered takes upd the entire free memory available and just occupies all the resources freezes the screen make it exteremely laggy etc so i must wait for this automatic triggers to check and i also completed the deletion of temp files step
most likely this will not fix the issue but lets find out also tell me what is this file performing is it important to system or just hp support assistant how can i delete this file ?

Hi @palmtopi,
Thank you for the response.
SysInfoCap.exe is part of HP Support Assistant, specifically responsible for gathering system diagnostics and hardware information. It is not essential for Windows and is only useful if you use HP Support Assistant for troubleshooting or updates.
Yes, you can safely delete it without affecting Windows, but it may return if HP Support Assistant reinstalls itself or runs an update.
Disable It First
Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) → Processes
Find SysInfoCap.exe, right-click → End Task
Locate and Delete It
Open File Explorer and navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Support Framework\
Look for SysInfoCap.exe
Right-click → Delete
Prevent It from Running Again
Open Task Scheduler (Win + R → type taskschd.msc → Enter)
Go to Task Scheduler Library → HP → HP Support Assistant
Find any task related to SysInfoCap
Right-click → Disable
Check Services
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter
Look for HP services (HP Network Check, HP Support Assistant Service, etc.)
Right-click on each → Properties → Change Startup type to Disabled
This should stop it from coming back. Since you already uninstalled HP Support Assistant, if it returns after some time, then HP background processes or updates are reinstalling it. Let’s see if this fixes the issue. If not, I’ll guide you further
I hope this helps.
