My Omnibook has no dedicated key for printscreen - but the words PRT SC are on the shift key. But I can't figure out how to use this and can only use the snippet route. I could use help/suggestions. First time here on the HP site - tried contacting HP for a phone call but the field requirements for the call wouldn't work no matter how I tried so I couldn't submit it and the virtual assistant was useless. I have windows 11 - but this is not soley a windows 11 issue - it's specific to my brand new HP laptop (which I am learning to hate - I should have examined the keyboard more closely before purchasing - there is no page up or page down key either - so all work arounds from my previous HP laptop)

@Jody67, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Taking a Screenshot on HP OmniBook X 14 inch Laptop with Windows 11!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OmniBook doesn't have a dedicated PrintScreen key but has "PRT SC" on the Shift key, you may use combination keys to capture screenshots. Here are steps you can follow:
Use Windows Snipping Tool:
Windows 11 features a built-in Snipping Tool that allows more flexibility compared to the traditional PrintScreen function.
Press Windows + Shift + S:
- This will open the Snipping Tool in Windows 11, and you can select the portion of the screen you want to capture.
- Options will appear for "Rectangular Snip," "Freeform Snip," "Window Snip," and "Fullscreen Snip."
Select the desired capture type:
- Use your mouse to select the area to capture. The image will be copied to the clipboard.
- You can then paste (Ctrl + V) this image into any application like Paint, Word, or an email.
Use the On-screen Touch Keyboard:
The Windows On-screen Keyboard has a dedicated Print Screen button if you need it:
Enable On-screen Keyboard:
- Open the Start Menu and type "On-Screen Keyboard" and click on the application.
Use the On-screen Keyboard's PrintScreen button:
- Once the On-screen Keyboard opens, click on the "PrtScn" key which is visible.
Use Physical Keys Combination (if applicable):
Some OmniBook models might have variations in key mappings. Try the following combinations:
- Press Fn + Shift + PRT SC:
- Check if Fn key activates the secondary function of Shift key to perform the PrintScreen function.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
