The Text Services Framework (TSF) is a Microsoft component that supports advanced text input and language services. If it's not working, you may experience issues with input methods, language switching, or text prediction. Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:
Restart the Text Services Framework Service
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and locate Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
- Set the Startup type to Automatic if it’s not already.
Enable Text Services Framework via Group Policy
- Press Windows + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
- Navigate to:Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Locale Services
- Double-click Turn off Text Services Framework.
- Set it to Disabled or Not Configured, then click OK.
Check Language and Input Settings
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
- Ensure your preferred language is installed and set as default.
- Click on the language > Options > ensure the keyboard and language pack are installed.
Run System File Checker
Corrupted system files can affect TSF.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type the following and press Enter:sfc /scannow
- Wait for the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions.
Update Drivers and Windows
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your model number.
- Ensure all drivers, especially keyboard, touchpad, and BIOS, are up to date.
- Also, check for Windows updates via Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Still Not Working?
If the issue persists, consider creating a new user profile to test if the problem is user-specific:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
