I had to do a clean re-install of Windows to my laptop. I would like to install THE HP APP back to this Windows 11, but I cannot find a place to download it. Where is it available? Thanks!
This is the software in question: https://www.hp.com/fi-fi/hp-app/overview.html

Hello there @HLP7! You may call me Astrix. I will be [actually] helping you out with this!
It seems that whoever was trying(?) to help you is utilizing AI; that can't replace digging into the Internet by hand. I was in the same predicament as you, and encountered your post before I finally managed to find what I was looking for.
I found this link in another HP Support Community post; I don't think it gets enough attention! To save you time though, I'll include the link to the HP App download (the main HP app you were referring to is myHP, and can be installed through the Microsoft App Store either online or in the desktop app itself):

Hi @HLP7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand you want to reinstall the HP Smart / HP App on your Windows 11 laptop after a clean Windows installation. Let’s go through the steps to get it installed.
Download HP Smart from Microsoft Store
- Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows 11 laptop.
- In the search bar, type “HP Smart”.
- Select the official HP Smart app from HP Inc. and click Get / Install.
- This is the same app available from HP’s official page.
Sign In / Set Up
- Once installed, open HP Smart.
- Sign in with your HP account or create a new one.
- Add your printer by USB or Wi-Fi following the on-screen instructions.
Install Printer Drivers if Needed
- If the app prompts, install the full-feature printer driver for your specific printer model.
- You can find drivers for your printer on HP Support.
Verify Functionality
- Print a test page or scan a document to confirm everything is working.
- Ensure that HP Smart can detect your printer and all features are available.
Optional – Create Shortcuts
- Pin the HP Smart app to Taskbar or Start Menu for quick access.
I hope this helps.

Hi.
I do not want the hp SMART app. Just "the hp app" that my laptop had preinstalled when I bought it. I understood that it is not directly available on the hp website or microsoft store, because my laptop is supposed to have it preinstalled. My printer is Canon, the SMART app is no use for me.
What I need it for is to monitor my laptop battery usage and battery condition.
Thanks.

Hi @HLP7,
Thanks for clarifying! I understand you’re looking for the HP App that came preinstalled on your laptop for monitoring battery usage and system health, not HP Smart for printers.
Here’s what you can do:
Check Microsoft Store for “HP App”
Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows 11 laptop.
Search for “HP App” (not HP Smart).
If available, you should see the official HP App by HP Inc. for system monitoring.
Use HP Support Assistant (Alternative)
Many HP laptops include HP Support Assistant, which can also monitor battery health, battery usage, and system diagnostics.
If it’s not installed, you can download it here: HP Support Assistant
Once installed, open it and go to Battery & Power to check battery status and usage.
Check for HP OEM Apps Preinstalled
Some HP laptops ship with the HP App only via the original factory image.
I hope this helps.

Hi.
I told you the Microsoft store does not have this app and neither does HP website. The HP Support Assistant I do have, and it does not have these features.
My question this whole time has been, is The HP App available for download. Now I see from your answer that it is not available.
My laptop is such a new model that Finnish support team has not got the recovery media for it yet.
My request is: I need the information passed on to the development group, that The HP App be made available as a public download for all models as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi @HLP7,
Thanks for the clarification! I completely understand now—you’re asking specifically about the HP App that comes preinstalled on certain HP laptops for system monitoring, battery usage, and battery condition—not HP Smart or HP Support Assistant.
Here’s what I can share:
Current Availability
As of now, the HP App is not available as a separate public download from HP’s website or the Microsoft Store.
On many newer models, it is shipped only as part of the original factory image. This is why a clean Windows reinstall doesn’t include it.
Alternatives
HP Support Assistant can provide some system and battery diagnostics, but it does not replicate all the HP App features.
For monitoring battery condition specifically, Windows 11 also provides battery reports via PowerShell (powercfg /batteryreport) if you need temporary functionality.
Please continue using HP Support Assistant for basic system monitoring, and you can generate battery reports from Windows as a workaround.
I understand this isn’t the ideal solution, but your feedback is important and will be considered for future releases.
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi

Thank you! This actually helped. The direct link you provided took me to the right app in Windows store. This app was not visible to me through the microsoft store search; I'm guessing because I'm in Finland, my local Microsoft store was not showing it to me. The direct link got me to the right app and I was able to download it to my laptop, even when my microsoft store is the Finnish version. The name of the app is nowadays very simply "HP", it is no longer named "myHP".

Edit; The app seems to have only very limited features: only audio and performance options. I needed this app for battery condition monitoring, and I'm sure the original app had more features when it was first pre-installed on this laptop.... Somehow, this re-install is a very much minimal version of what it is supposed to be and what comes installed with a new laptop.

Try using the HP Support Assistant app; it has the battery monitoring and such: Download HP Support Assistant
