Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

 

I recently bought this laptop. HP Pavilion 15 -cc0xx. It runs on Windows 10 pro (64bit).

 

The problem I have is that I cant 2finger scroll with the touchpad. Not can I use any other multi finger fuction. I can only move the pointer, left click and right click. I tried reinstalling the latest driver from synaptics website, still not fixed.

 

Here's a screenshot of my Device Manager, Mouse settings, Touchpad settings, and Syanptics settings.

To better assist you - May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

 

While you respond to that, try updating the computer - 

 

Step 1 Windows Updates troubleshooter -

Click on this link to run Windows Updates troubleshooter.

 

Step 2 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 3 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

The exact product name is,  HP Pavilion Laptop 15 -cc0xx

 

I found this using HP Support Assistant. The support assistant was unable to correct my problem.

 

I have tried updating the windows as well.

I recommend you enable the scrolling option in the touchpad settings and check if it helps.

 

Here is how it is done.

 

If the checkbox next to Scrolling does not contain a checkmark, click the checkbox until a checkmark displays to enable Scrolling.

 

Pinch Zoom on the properties page

Mine only shows this.

This is what is frustrating me. It should have all those options that you mentioned, yet it doesnt.

Thank you for posting back. 
 

Let's try: 

Firstly, perform Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

Next step, BIOS default: 

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. Once it's done uninstall the Touchpad device,

Next, uninstall Touchpad device from device manager.

  1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it. 
  2. In the device manager, expand category "Mice and other pointing devices". 
  3. Under this category, right-click on your Synaptics Touchpad driver and click on Uninstall. 
  4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button. 
  5. Restart your PC for the change to take effect. After restarting. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver. 
  6. Do not perform any manual upgrades to the driver until it does automatically
