I have a Vitus 16 laptop. Today I updated to the latest version of Windows and my camera stopped working. Following some advice, I removed this camera from Device Manager, as it was inactive. The camera no longer appears there. There are no camera settings in the BIOS. The support assistant app does not find any problems. Legacy device installation does not find a driver for the camera. There are no drivers for webcams on the drivers page for Victus 16 on HP website. I updated all the drivers, both in the HP PC Diagnostics application and in the AMD chipset application. The camera is enabled in the settings, of course. I don't even know what to do anymore, but I really don't want to reinstall Windows. The problem appeared after installing the latest version of Windows. The camera was still working this morning, but after rebooting from the update, it stopped working. I cannot reinstall the previous version because I get a message saying "No files from the previous version found."

Hi @IhorKrasnozhon,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details and screenshots. They confirm the situation:

  • Image 1: HP Support Assistant shows “All drivers are up to date.”
  • Image 2: Windows Camera app error: Cannot find camera with code 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>.
  • Image 3: Device Manager view no camera listed, even under hidden devices.

This means the camera hardware is not being detected at all, which usually happens after a major Windows update when the driver or device enumeration fails.

Why This Happened

  • Windows 11 updates sometimes remove OEM camera drivers and default to Microsoft’s generic driver.
  • If the device was removed from Device Manager and the “Legacy hardware” install didn’t find it, Windows isn’t detecting the camera at the hardware level.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Show Hidden Devices

  • In Device Manager → Click View > Show hidden devices.
  • Check under Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  • If the camera appears grayed out, right-click → Uninstall → Restart.

2. Scan for Hardware Changes

  • In Device Manager → Click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
  • If nothing appears, proceed to the next step.

3. Install HP Camera Driver

HP often bundles the camera driver with the Intel/AMD chipset or HP Image Enhancement driver.

  • Go to the HP official page for Victus 16:👉 Official HP® Support
  • Download:
    • HP Image Enhancement for Camera
    • Chipset driver
    • HP Universal Camera Driver (if listed)

4. Use Windows Optional Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.
  • Check for Camera drivers and install.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi, unfortunately, the first two methods did not help me. As for the third method, I updated the AMD chipset driver, but when I tried to download

  • HP Image Enhancement for Camera, and
  • HP Universal Camera Driver (if listed),

These drivers did not even appear in the list. I will attach a link where this can be seen. Perhaps I can download these files separately and install them somehow?
