@Zahid25, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP laptop's touchpad isn't working, and I’m here to help you get it resolved.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Enable the Touchpad
Sometimes the touchpad may be accidentally disabled.
- Press Fn + F6, Fn + F9, or Fn + F5 (varies by model) to toggle the touchpad on/off.
- Alternatively, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure it’s turned On.
Restart Your Laptop
A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click your touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
If that doesn’t help:
- Right-click the touchpad device again and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix touchpad issues.
- Download or open HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Run the tool and check for updates or diagnostics related to the touchpad.
BIOS Update (Advanced)
If the issue persists, updating the BIOS may help.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your laptop model and download the latest BIOS update.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
