OMEN by HP 15-dc1044na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is one for HP more than the forum, but hopefully someone might pick it up.

I've got an OMEN 15-dc1044na.

I use the thunderbolt port for 10Gb Ethernet through a Sonnett Solo 10G Device.

This device works flawlessly upon first install, but eventually starts suffering from consistent drops and restorations of connection, until it gets to a point where it locks the Thunderbolt port up and a system restart is required.

The cause of this failure is something in the driver package HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor Version 7.0.22.44692

Can HP either withdraw the driver or correct the issue that causing these Thunderbolt disconnects please.

Anyone suffering with the same issue I would suggest checking the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor Driver in System Devices, and rolling back the driver. I identified this issue utilising Event Viewer and the Windows Update application to identify when the problem started and what had happened just before.

Hopefully this helps others who might be having twitchy Thunderbolt connectivity.

Thanks

Lee
