Hello!

I'm trying to access the "Thunderbolt Controller" section in the "About" page in the Thunderbolt Software app. However, whenever I get there, it is blank. Looking further in the "About" page, it displays a message saying "Controller driver version: Unknown".

I went to the area where I can download drivers for my laptop and downloaded the Thunderbolt Controller driver. While installing, it acted as if the driver was already on my laptop. The only option it gave me was to uninstall the Thunderbolt Software entirely.

My question is: How can I fix this? I need to access information in the "Thunderbolt Controller" section in the application.

A follow up question: Does this mean Thunderbolt products won't work on my laptop? I haven't purchased anything yet, but I'd like to know if this points to some kind of hardware defect. While I was googling this issue, some users definitely had to have their hardware replaced to get this to work.

Thanks!

Same issue here and none of my thunderbolt docks work. I get video out but no USB and not Ethernet. Thunderbolt software says driver version unknown and re-running the driver installer only provides the option to remove (remove and re-install doesn't fix the problem either).
