Hi @mrFlisk,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Pavilion 13-s000ur touchscreen!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that you have installed all the latest Windows updates, as they might include necessary drivers for the touchscreen.
Visit HP Support: Go to the official HP Support website to download drivers specific to your laptop model. You can search for your product and check if there are any touch screen drivers or updates available.
Install HP Support Assistant: Download and install HP Support Assistant. It can automatically find and install drivers for your HP device.
Use the HP Diagnostics Tool: Since the touch screen is not working in UEFI diagnostics, there might be a hardware issue. However, you can still run diagnostics tests available from HP to try to detect any underlying problems.
Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that the touchscreen functionality is not disabled in the system BIOS. Accessing BIOS settings might give you options to enable touchscreen support.
Reinstall Drivers: In the Device Manager, right-click on the "HID-compliant device" and choose "Uninstall." Then restart your laptop to allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
I hope this helps.

Hi @mrFlisk.
You're most welcome, and thanks for getting back!
Regarding your question about accessing Advanced BIOS settings, most HP consumer laptops, including the HP Pavilion series, have limited BIOS access by design. HP has locked advanced BIOS options on these models to prevent accidental system changes that could impact stability.
That said, here are a few things to note:
Why Advanced Mode Isn't Available:
HP typically reserves advanced BIOS options (like hardware-level configuration) for business- or workstation-class models (like the EliteBook or ZBook series). On Pavilion laptops, BIOS F.46 offers only essential options related to boot, security, and diagnostics.
Key Combos Like Ctrl + F10 or Ctrl + A:
These shortcuts don't work on newer HP BIOS versions or consumer-grade machines. Attempts to unlock advanced settings via hidden keys are unfortunately no longer effective or supported.
What You Can Try Instead:
Check Device Configuration:
Boot into BIOS (F10 during startup).
Look for any option related to “Internal Device Configuration” or “Advanced” (rarely available).
Enable any "Touchscreen" or "HID" option if it exists.
Reset BIOS to Defaults:
In BIOS, press F9 to load Setup Defaults.
Save changes (F10) and restart.
Hardware Path Confirmation:
Since your touchscreen doesn't respond even in UEFI Diagnostics, and it's missing from Device Manager, it's likely either:
A hardware failure (digitizer cable loose/disconnected).
A missing driver that Windows can’t recognize automatically.
I hope this helps.
