after trying to install the most recent driver for my touchpad, an error appears every time i try no matter if i use the correct os or not, is there a way to bypass or fix this?

To address the issue with your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC's touchpad driver showing an incorrect OS version error, you can try the following steps.
Uninstall the Current Touchpad Driver
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
- Right-click on your touchpad driver and select Uninstall device.
- Check the option to delete the driver software for this device and confirm the uninstallation.
- Restart your computer.
Download the Correct Driver
- Go to the HP Support Website.
- Enter your PC's model number and navigate to the Drivers & Software section.
- Select your OS version from the dropdown menu.
- Download the latest touchpad driver compatible with your OS.
Install the Driver in Compatibility Mode
- Right-click on the downloaded driver file.
- Select Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select the correct OS version.
- Click Apply and OK.
- Run the driver installer as an administrator.
Update Windows
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security and select Windows Update.
- Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Restart your computer.
Run Hardware Troubleshooter
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security and select Troubleshoot.
- Click on Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to fix any detected issues.

Install the Driver Using Device Manager
- Download the driver file from the HP Support Website but do not run the installer.
- Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a known location.
- Open Device Manager and right-click on the touchpad device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers.
- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the driver files and select it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Check for Windows Updates and HP Support Assistant
Ensure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates and HP Support Assistant updates:
- Open Windows Update from Settings and ensure all updates are installed.
- Open HP Support Assistant and check for any updates or recommendations for your device.

the issue with device manager is that no touchpad device shows up, and there appears to be no unknown devices for the touchpad either is there a possibility that bc the driver isn't installed it isn't showing up?
