I2C HID device not working error code(10) due to this touch pad is not functioning at all

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding I2C HID Device Error Code 10 on HP Pavilion x360 15-er1000!

If you are experiencing a touchpad issue with your HP Pavilion x360 15 Convertible PC 15-er1000 where the I2C HID Device is not working and shows error code 10, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

 

Update the BIOS:

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Enter your serial number or product name (HP Pavilion x360 15 Convertible PC 15-er1000).
  • Click on Software, Drivers, and Firmware.
  • Select your operating system (Microsoft Windows 11) and version, then click Submit.
  • Locate the BIOS section and download the latest BIOS update.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to install the BIOS update.
    Error Code 10 in Device Manager

Update the Touchpad Driver:

  • Go to the Device Manager on your Windows 11 computer.
  • In the list, find Human Interface Devices, expand it and locate the I2C HID Device.
  • Right-click on the I2C HID Device and choose Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software and let Windows update the driver.

Reinstall the Touchpad Driver:

  • If updating the driver does not work, you can try reinstalling it.
  • Right-click on the I2C HID Device in Device Manager and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot.

Check Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your system is up to date by running Windows Update.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Check for updates and install any available updates.
