Hi @Evan104,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re having an issue with the touchpad, but I’ll need a bit more detail to guide you correctly. Let’s first narrow it down with a few quick checks.

Confirm the exact problem

Is the touchpad not working at all, intermittent, laggy, or working but clicks/gestures don’t respond?

Does an external mouse work normally?

Check if the touchpad is disabled

Try pressing Fn + the touchpad key (usually F5, F7, F9, or F11 with a touchpad icon).

Some HP laptops allow the touchpad to be toggled on/off with this key.

Look for the touchpad in Device Manager

Open Device Manager > Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.

Check if the touchpad appears, is disabled, or shows a warning symbol.

Check Touchpad settings

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.

Confirm the touchpad is turned On and sensitivity settings are normal.

Restart the laptop

A simple restart can restore touchpad services if they’re temporarily stuck.

Confirm recent changes

Did this issue start after a Windows update, driver update, or clean OS install?

Knowing this helps determine whether it’s a software or driver-related issue.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
