Microsoft Windows 11

My Touchpad doen`t allow me to scroll or zoom ( HP Pavillion 15- cs1xxx),

I need an up-to-date driver for the Windows 11 version, as you only have the version for Windows 10 available online, which is not compatible with wondows 11.

Hi @luca136

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like the touchpad functionality on your HP Pavilion 15-cs1xxx needs updated drivers for Windows 11.

Let's work through this step by step to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Use the Windows 10 Driver for Compatibility

Even though the driver on HP’s website is listed for Windows 10, many Windows 10 drivers work on Windows 11 due to compatibility mode:

Download the Windows 10 touchpad driver from HP’s support page for your laptop model.

Right-click on the installer file, select Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab.

Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 10.

Click OK and install the driver.

Step 2: Install the Driver via Windows Update

Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Click "Check for updates" to let Windows scan for hardware driver updates. Sometimes, updated drivers are included in system updates.

Step 3: Update the Driver Manually in Device Manager

Press Win + X and select Device Manager.

Expand "Human Interface Devices" or "Mice and other pointing devices."

Right-click on your touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN) and select Update driver.

Choose "Search automatically for drivers."

If no updates are found, select "Browse my computer for drivers," then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers."

Test the installed driver after the update.

Step 4: Enable Precision Touchpad Features

Windows 11 uses Precision Touchpad settings for scrolling, zooming, and gestures:

Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.

Enable touchpad gestures like two-finger scrolling or pinch-to-zoom.

Step 5: Reset or Reinstall Windows Touchpad Settings

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad > Advanced gestures settings. Reset any custom settings to default.

Step 6: Check for BIOS Updates

An outdated BIOS might cause compatibility problems with hardware: How to Update BIOS Software on Windows PCs | HP® Tech Takes

Visit HP’s support site, search for your model (15-cs1xxx), and check for a BIOS update.

Carefully follow the instructions to install the latest version.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
