Pavilion dv6-2133ee
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm currently having an issue with the touchpad driver in my laptop.

The laptop is "Pavilion dv6-2133ee"

The problem is in the touchpad driver, it was working fine in Windows 7 and windows 10 but when windows installed its own driver and deleted the previous driver, it stopped function properly.

The type of malfunction: vertical and horizontal scroll not working.

Tried to install the driver on HP's website but no luck whatsoever.

Hope I can find a solution.

@Ash773 I suggest you remove the existing drivers, using the below steps and restart the computer, let windows install the generic drivers to fix the issue:

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:

Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.

  • 1.   Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
  • 2.   Click Device Manager.
  • 3.   Click + sign next to Mouse.
  • 4.   Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
  • 5.   Restart your computer.

If the issue persists, please click here to find and install the drivers from the HP website.

Well, sorry for my late reply, I have been very busy for the last few weeks.

Anyway, the problem is still present. Both the drivers provided by windows update and the drivers on HP support don't work. Furthermore, the generic driver doesn't do any good. I was originally using Windows 7 and then upgraded to 10. When the upgrade process took place, Windows 10 replaced the original Windows 7 driver with a newer one, the newer one is what's causing the issue, I can't revert back to that driver because I accidentally did a disk clean up. What I hope is that you guys provide me a link to download that old factory version of the Synaptic Touchpad which is inside my Laptop so that I could get the scrolling feature back.

Thanks in advance,

an HP customer.

@Ash773 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are looking at the touchpad drivers for windows 7 operating system.

Please click to download the touchpad drivers.

For Windows 10 operating system, there are no drivers for this model.

Thank you for replying.

Unfortunately, the driver you're mentioning (14.0.0.3 Rev. A) for the Synaptics Touchpad doesn't fix the issue.

The only one that worked was its predecessor (13.2.4.12 A) and is no longer on the support page.

If you could provide me a link to download that version of the driver that would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

an HP customer.
