The touch screen is not working, and the cursor jumps from app to app, glitching  all over the screen and there is no way to control it. Also apps will not open. I also tried going into settings, restarting, and shutting it down. Please help!

Hi @ZachAT2159

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Touchscreen issue.

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Hard Reset -

1.) Shutdown the computer.
2.) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3.) Remove the Battery.

Note - This step is not applicable for built-in battery.
4.) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5.) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer.
6.) Try to turn on the computer.

Step 2 BIOS Defaults -

1.) Shutdown the computer.
2.) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3.) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4.) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5.) Press F10 to save and exit.

Step 3 Re-install the display driver -
1.) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2.) In Device Manager, expand Display Adapter.
3.) Right-click on the Display Adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4.) Restart the computer.

Step 4 Download and install the BIOS and Chipset driver from this link

Step 5 Test the hardware -

1.) Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2.) Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3.) On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4.) Click Extensive Test.
