Hi @asdfghj32456

If your HP EliteBook 830 G8 Notebook PC's touchpad left and right clicks are not working, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:

  1. Restart Your Computer:
    • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve the issue. Restart your computer and check if the touchpad is working.

  2. Update Touchpad Drivers:

  3. Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
    • Enter your serial number or product name and click Submit.
    • Select your Windows 10 64-bit operating system version.
    • Download and install the latest touchpad driver from the provided list, ensuring your touchpad drivers are up-to-date.

  4. Enable Touchpad in Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
    • Ensure the touchpad is set to On.
    • Verify the click settings for left and right buttons.

  5. Check BIOS Settings:

    • Restart your computer and press F10 to enter the BIOS setup.
    • Navigate to Advanced > Device Options.
    • Ensure that the touchpad option is enabled.
    • Save changes and exit BIOS.

  6. HP Support Assistant:

    • Ensure you have the latest updates by using the HP Support Assistant tool.
    • Open HP Support Assistant and check for any pending updates or diagnostics you can run for the touchpad.

  7. External Mouse Test:

    • Connect an external mouse to your laptop and check if it works properly. This will confirm if the issue is isolated to the touchpad.

  8. System Restore:

    • If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, consider performing a system restore to a point when the touchpad was working correctly.

I hope it helps.
