Hi, my touchpad started acting up (it switched apps and windows etc.) every time I tried to scroll or anything so I restarted my laptop thinking that would fix the problem, however, after the restart the touchpad completely stopped working and is totally unresponsive. However, in device managers, it shows that the touchpad is connected. Is there any way to fix this problem or do I need to replace the touchpad?

I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to uninstall and reinstall the touchpad drivers.

2. Click on Device Manager to open the applet.
3. Double-click the Mice and other pointing devices option to expand it.
4. Right-click on your touchpad driver and select Uninstall device.
5. Click the Uninstall button to confirm the action.
6. Finally, click Scan for hardware changes icon at the top to reinstall the driver.
7. In Device Manager, check if your Touchpad is shown in the Mice and other pointing devices category. Also, restart your computer to apply the changes.

The same thing happened to my computer after a Windows 11 update 6/23. Someone from Microsoft attempted to correct the error. The correction worked for 5 hours. Now, my computer is on a never-ending loop. I have a black screen showing HP, and it looping over and over at the bottom.
