3)Tpm 2.0 driver is available in device manager but it is hidden which i think means that it is not currently in use

Hi @Utkarsh141, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is either malfunctioning or not being detected properly by Windows, even though it appears enabled in BIOS. Since you've already tried resetting TPM, checking the BIOS, and reinstalling Windows, here are a few additional steps to diagnose and potentially fix the issue:

Double-check BIOS settings

Even if you've enabled TPM in BIOS, try the following:

  • Enter BIOS (F10 on startup)
  • Find TPM settings (Security → TPM Configuration or Trusted Computing)
  • If TPM is disabled, enable it and save changes.
  • If TPM is already enabled, try the following:
    • Disable TPM, save changes, restart.
    • Go back into BIOS and enable TPM again, save changes, restart.
    • Check if Windows detects TPM now.

Check if TPM is detected in PowerShell

Run the following command in PowerShell (Admin):

get-tpm

  • If it says TPM Present: False, your TPM is either disabled or faulty.
  • If it says TPM Ready: False, it might need clearing (which you've already done).

Check for missing TPM device in Device Manager

Since you mentioned the TPM 2.0 driver is hidden:

  • Open Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices.
  • Locate Security Devices → Trusted Platform Module 2.0.
  • If it's grayed out:
    • Right-click → Uninstall device.
    • Click Scan for hardware changes to force Windows to detect it.
    • If not detected, restart and check again.

Manually reinstall TPM driver

  • If TPM 2.0 is missing, try manually installing it:
    • Download the latest chipset and TPM drivers for your HP Pavilion 15-ec2000 from the HP website.
    • Install and restart.

Force Windows to recognize TPM using Group Policy

If Windows isn't recognizing TPM, you can force it:

  • Open Run (Win + R) → type gpedit.msc → Enter.
  • Navigate to:
Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Trusted Platform Module Services
  • Find Ignore the default list of blocked TPMs, double-click it, set it to Enabled, and restart.

BIOS Update

  • Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop.
  • Some HP Pavilion models had TPM-related bugs that were fixed in BIOS updates.

If Nothing Works → Possible TPM Chip Failure

Since you cannot even clean install Windows 11 due to TPM issues, there is a chance that the TPM chip is faulty or corrupted.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

if possible provide the driver link.

i have few ques

1) Is their any major problem or problems which i can face without it as i use my laptop for normal daily tasks

2)if the chip is faulty how much will it cost to repair.

3) What could be the reason of it become faulty out of sudden after working perfectly fine for 2 years

Thank you for your response @utkarsh1401

Since TPM Present: False is showing in PowerShell and Windows isn’t reinstalling the driver, your laptop’s TPM module is either:

  1. Disabled or corrupted at the firmware level (unlikely since you updated the BIOS and reset TPM).
  2. Physically faulty or disconnected (this means the TPM chip may have failed).

🔗 TPM 2.0 Driver Download for HP Pavilion 15-ec2000

HP does not provide a separate TPM driver, as it is handled by Windows automatically. However, you can try updating the chipset driver, as it sometimes includes TPM-related firmware:

🔹 AMD Chipset Driver (latest for your model)
📥 Download here

  • Install it and restart to check if TPM appears in tpm.msc or Device Manager.

If TPM is still not detected after installing the chipset driver, then it's likely a hardware failure.

🔍 Answers to Your Questions

1) Is there any major problem if I use my laptop without TPM?

👉 For normal daily tasks, you won’t face big issues. However, without TPM:
You can still use Windows 11, but features like BitLocker encryption, Windows Hello (fingerprint/face unlock), and Secure Boot may not work.
🚫 You may have issues with future Windows updates, as TPM is a requirement for Windows 11.
⚠️ Some security features like Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and Windows Defender Credential Guard won’t work.

If Microsoft enforces stricter TPM 2.0 requirements, you might have to reinstall Windows 11 with a TPM bypass.

2) If the TPM chip is faulty, how much will it cost to repair?

TPM is not a replaceable component; it’s integrated into the motherboard.
You will have to visit the nearest HP authorized service center

Alternative Option: If replacing the motherboard is too expensive, you can continue using Windows 11 by bypassing TPM requirements during installation.

3) What could cause TPM to fail suddenly after 2 years?

  • BIOS/firmware corruption (but you already updated and reset it).
  • Power surge or overheating damaging motherboard components.
  • Windows update bug (some Windows updates have caused TPM detection issues).
  • Hardware failure (rare, but it happens—could be a failing motherboard component).

I hope this helps!
