Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I own a Spectre x360 13-4066nz

I recently bought a new Samsung monitor on which I can get a 3480x2160 resolution when I run ubuntu (I have a dual boot)

With Windows 10 (64 bit, 1903 version) it's impossible to get more than 1920x1080.

I have tried to install a more recent version of the intel HD graphics 5500 driver, but it didn't solve the issue.

Intel graphics control panel doesn't allow setting 3480x2160 60hz custom resolution, it says it exceeds the maximal bandwidth. Of course this is totally wrong, as it works perfectly on ubuntu.

Any ideas?

Hello @daniel-ge,

I assume you're driving it from the miniDP?

Also, what happens when you change the projection types? Specifically, using Win key + P, if you do Second Screen Only? Then head to Settings > System > Display Settings, select the correct display, which should be labelled and then adjusting the resolution from there?

Hello EddyK

Thanks for a quick answer

yes it's connected to miniDP

No, when I set display settings to second screen only, it doesn't list any resolution above 1920x1080

You're sure that you attained 4K through Ubuntu - correct? And you're using the same monitor input and cable?

Also, you have this driver installed, right:

Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1803)

Description:

This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported computer models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500/sp92322.exe

Also, could you provide me with the specific model name of the monitor?

Yes, I definitely can get 4K on ubuntu, same monitor, same cable, same laptop.

The driver I have installed is the same one you're referring to: according to the HP support site,

sp92322.exe = version 20.19.15.5058, which is the version I see:

Hello @daniel-ge,

Sorry about the late reply.

This is the support page for your monitor. Could you scroll down and install the monitor driver? It's called Device(Install) ver 1.0 (MULTI LANGUAGE)

Hi EddyK,

Thank you for your reply.
Even before I posted my issue I had already  tried to install this Samsung driver (U28H75xUQ.exe)
It doesn't solve the issue.
