Pavilion dv7
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am trying to find the TrueVision drivers for the Pavilion dv7.

PN: A6X16UA#ABA

I am not sure what happened to it. I have not used the webcam in years. I tried bringing it back up through Skype and I noticed it wasnt seeing a camera. Looking through all of the drop downs in the Device Manager I saw the webcam was not in there. Scanning for hardware changes does no good. I reinstalled the "Youcam" software but that does not have the driver for the webcam coupled with it. I have not been able to spot it online anywhere yet.

Any leads?

@ensabahnur,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you need the webcam driver.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I would like to inform you that the webcam uses the Windows generic driver. I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
