Turbobust does not work correctly after updating the bios from f21 to f22. The incorrectness lies in the fact that the frequency changes rapidly and does not reach the frequency in the turbobuster (4.5Ggz). At 100% load, the frequency drops and varies from 3.9 to 2.8 Ghz, while the processor temperature does not exceed 70 degrees. In the power supply settings, all processor parameters are set to 100%. There are no unidentified devices in the device manager, even after reinstalling the system, the problem has not gone away. When trying to roll back the bios using a USB flash drive, an error (500) .Снимок экрана (1).png

Hi @User3212,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your OMEN X by HP 2S 15-Dg0002ur not reaching the expected Turbo Boost frequencies after the BIOS update, follow these steps:

Recheck Power Settings:

  • Make sure your power plan is set to “High Performance” in Windows.
  • Go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings.
  • Ensure that the processor power management settings have both the minimum and maximum processor state set to 100%.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Reboot your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup).
  • Look for any power management or performance settings and ensure that Turbo Boost is enabled.
  • Restore BIOS settings to default and then reconfigure as necessary.

Update Drivers: Software and Drivers for OMEN X by HP 2S 15-dg0002ur

  • Ensure all drivers are up to date, especially chipset and Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) drivers.
  • Visit the HP support website for your specific laptop model to download the latest drivers.

ITBM (Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology) Driver:

  • Download and install the latest Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology driver from Intel’s website.
  • Ensure that the Intel Dynamic Tuning driver is also installed.

Reinstall BIOS:

  • Try re-flashing the BIOS again using a USB drive:
    1. Download the BIOS update file for your laptop model from the HP support website.
    2. Create a BIOS recovery USB drive. HP provides instructions on how to create this here.
    3. Boot from the USB drive and follow the on-screen instructions to re-flash the BIOS.
    4. If you encounter a 500 error, make sure the USB drive is formatted correctly and the BIOS file is not corrupted. Try downloading the file again and using a different USB drive.

Check Thermal Throttling:

  • Even though the temperature doesn’t exceed 70 degrees, make sure there are no signs of thermal throttling.
  • Clean the cooling vents and fans to ensure there is no dust buildup.
  • Consider repasting the CPU with high-quality thermal paste if you’re comfortable doing so.

Rollback BIOS Version:

  • If the new BIOS version is causing issues, attempt to rollback to the previous BIOS version (F21):
    1. Download the previous BIOS version from the HP support website.
    2. Create a BIOS rollback USB drive and follow the BIOS recovery procedure as mentioned earlier.
