Hello

I've just bought a new laptop for my parents and they prefer to use a mouse to the touchpad. However I'm having a few issues turning the touchpad off. I've tried going into Management but it will only let me uninstall the touchpad but it reinstalls everytime the laptops boots up, I've tried downloading touchpad blocker software, I've even tried going into F2 during reboot but there doesn't seem to be anything that will let me turn off the touchpad permanently.

Can any of you guys out there think of anything else that may help?

Thanks in advance

Heidi

Hi Heidi,

Hi,

If you go into control panel (click on start and type control panel and click on the app)

Open the Mouse properties (double-click on mouse)

There should be a Synaptics tab on the right.

It should allow you to "disable when external pointing device is plugged in"

hope it helps,

David

Sorry mate, I don't seem to have that tab - I've noticed it in a few of the online helps that I found around the place but it doesn't help much when the one tab you want to appear doesn't seem to for me.
