I have been using my laptop for a while with two additional monitors. One of them I was connecting to the HDMI port, while the second display I was connecting to the USB-C port. Everything worked perfectly until 27/03/23 (approximately).
The USB-C port on my laptop is DisplayPort. Just in case, I attach a web link to the features of my laptop "Victus by HP Laptop 16-d0021ns": https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c07995335
Since a few days ago the C port has stopped emitting video signal when I connect the HDMI-C adapter I was using. Amazon link to the adapter I bought a while ago:

The curious thing is that when I connect the adapter to the computer, the laptop recognizes that the adapter is connected, but does not recognize the monitor (when the HDMI cable is also connected to the adapter). Attached is a picture of the device manager:

The additional monitor I'm connecting via the USB-C port remains black in the meantime.
I tried with 2 other laptops if the same thing happened, but it didn't. On the other 2 computers, connecting the monitor with the adapter to the USB-C port, it worked correctly. One of these laptops was the "HP EliteBook 840 G8".
I did another test with the "Victus by HP Laptop 16-d0021ns" (whose USB-C does not work when connecting a display): I connected a USB stick via the C port with an adapter. To my surprise, not only did it detect this USB stick, but I could open and read its files normally.
While browsing the community, I found a case similar to mine: https://h30467.www3.hp.com/t5/Pantalla-y-v%C3%ADdeo-para-notebooks/Entrada-USB-tipo-C-portatil-HP-Vi...
This case mentioned above seems to have been solved thanks to another case from the community: https://h30467.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware-para-notebooks/no-detecta-usb-c/m-p/1302697...
This last one has been solved thanks to the expert RESISTANCE, who told you to perform a power reset following the following instructions: https://support.hp.com/es-es/document/ish_2804747-2618913-16
Well, I have tried to perform this power reboot on my laptop without much success, as I received the following error message at each attempt:
Anyway, after receiving this error message and turning the computer back on, I tried to check if connecting the additional display via the USB-C port worked properly. However, it didn't work on any of the attempts (I always checked "Windows Updates", just in case).
When I got this new error, I searched the community again and saw that the expert RESISTANCE recommended restoring the BIOS. He also suggests following the instructions in the following YouTube video from the HP Support channel (Verified): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecgIeGuOFCM&t=7s
After following the instructions in the video, I received the BIOS recovery message "BIOS Recovery (500)".
When the computer turned on, I again tried to connect the display via the USB-C port without success (I checked "Windows Updates" again, just in case).
At this point, I decided to try a power reboot again. But that didn't work either, as I kept getting the error "The CMOS checksum is invalid. CMOS Reset (502)". I tried to connect the monitor again, but again it did not receive a video signal from the computer.
I don't know what else to do, or what else to try. I've been looking for information in forums and internet pages all week... I haven't found anything that could help me.

In order to resolve the BIOS corruption issue at this point, you will need to try downloading the BIOS ROM softpaq.
